ramzan

the flavour of india is visible in its narrow streets, in the sidelines of gray trajectories carving their way on the roads, mixed and mangled with dead marigold, a rush of people, of all colors, identities,as hands from no where touch you, nudge you, aware of your existence, dependent, expectant...

in the fervor that is building up right now, if u still feel you aren't quite through you take the challenge of jumping into the mayhem that we call a festival...

as i walked on the streets of mumbai, called " masjid bandar road", wherein thronged millions of people, droned in crisp white kurtas, caps on their heads, ladies covered in full black, charming only with their kohled eyes, barbecued roosters hanging from shops in a barbaric crude form, people being lured from the sweet smell of fried malpua's, gulab jamuns, a contant chant of "chachaa, yeh lana...chachha...murg tandoori!!"

on a passage ever reducing its length because of the increasing population, before you realize you are pushed into a dingy shop, and before the blink of an eye...comes greasy bheja fry, gurda, and all that you can possibly fry!!!

certainly nothing green about this event, but worth an experience
